Inert Gas Generator Systems

Typically used on board sea-going vessels; the Inert Gas Generator System is applied when no existing supply of flue gas is available. The system comprises a combined burner and scrubber which are both cooled by seawater.

Marine diesel oil or heavy fuel is burnt to produce inert gas with Oxygen content of 2 – 4%. The gas then enters the scrubber, where it is cooled and cleaned by sprayed seawater before being distributed to the deck area.

Generator capacities between 500 – 17,500 m3/h are available with automatic turndown ratios of 4:1.
